2008 New Years Resolution : Loose 60 Lbs. hehehe

This is my 2008 new years resolution to loose 60 lbs. As of Jan 2008 my current weight is 220 lbs. Then my goal by the end of the year would be 160 lbs. The first reason why i want to loose weight is because of "Health" purposes. I want to live healthy until I get old. Be able to perform sky diving, scuba diving and tour around the world even at the age of 80 (hehehehe i wish). Then second reason would be is "Discipline". I want to prove to myself that i can discipline myself from eating healthy foods and exercise in order to achieve my goal. Because so far for me this is the hardest and most challenging task i have to accomplish. It's hard to discipline myself especially i really like food. But my outlook would be, if i can accomplish this, then there's no task and challenges that i would not overcome in the future.

In order to accomplish my goal i done some research in the internet about eating healthy food and how to loose weight in a healthy way. I promise myself never to take medicines that would make me loose weight. I don't want a meal replacement of some sort. I want to loose weight by eating healthy foods and exercise, the natural way because this is where the challenge of discipline comes into play. hehehe

This is what i have change in my day to day activities :
  • From home going to work, it takes me two rides. Then same goes from work going back home. So instead of taking two rides from work going back home, I walk the first route and then take a ride in the second route. So I walk daily after work from Ayala to Jysquare Lahug instead of riding a Jeepney. This way i get walking exercise and also save money.
  • Apply for a gym membership. I want to build strong muscles aside from loosing weight. I workout three (3) times per week. My schedule would be after work during MWF. It cost an additional expense to my savings but i think its worth it. I also need to invest money for my health.

  • Change my eating habit. Eat more healthy foods like vegetable and fruits. Replace white rice with brown rice. Then eat 5 times a day in order to promote faster metabolism. Then eat complex carb foods. Then reduce rice from 2 servings into 1 serving per meal. Then reduce drinking of softdrinks. If i want to drink, then choose diet softdrink or juice. I admit eating healthy cost more money rather than eating a regular meal. Maybe that is also the reason why most people can't afford to eat healthy foods(sad reality really). But i think its a choice, you can always budget your money and choose which food you want to eat and where you buy. Before i usually just buy a budget meal, now i buy and cook my own brown rice. Then instead of always meat and chicken, now i buy vegetable and fish. Then also buy banana or apple for fruits.
